"Whatever you do, think of the Glory of God as your main goal"
- St. John Bosco

As the Primary Educators of Their Children, Parents Have a big Task Ahead. We can Help!

Our hybrid model is 3.5 days per week, giving more flexibility than traditional private school. Monday through Wednesday will be full school days and Thursday will be a half day focusing on enrichment. Please see the homeschool co-op information below for more information.

Your child will be enrolled in Kolbe Academy, an accredited homeschool curriculum, which will provide record keeping, school support, and eventually, your child’s high school diploma.

Kolbe Academy’s curriculum focuses on the true, good, and beautiful. Our faith is woven into every aspect of every subject. Our teachers are and always will be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church. In the upper grades, a focus on the great books and socratic discussion is paramount. The goal is that our children will know, love, and serve the Lord in their lives and can defend the faith clearly and concisely.

At St. John Bosco Academy, we operate with a unique hybrid model that bridges homeschooling and classical Catholic education. Because families remain the primary educators of their children under this model, enrollment is considered a form of homeschooling in the eyes of state law.

Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA)

For this reason, we require families to maintain membership with the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA). HSLDA provides:

  • Legal Protection: Assurance that your family’s right to homeschool is defended should legal questions ever arise.
  • Practical Support: Resources, forms, and guidance to help families meet state requirements.
  • Peace of Mind: Confidence that both the school and families are protected in navigating the hybrid structure.

Requiring HSLDA membership ensures that all families have equal access to legal support and that our school community is united in safeguarding the freedom to educate our children according to faith and conscience.

Homeschool Co-op

The St. John Bosco enrichment day will be open to homeschool parents as a homeschool co-op. We have had great success with our current model which focuses on Science, Art, and Life Skills. We learn about the saints, recite poetry and scripture, have hands-on projects in every class, and enjoy each other’s company. We often have community-building events such as mom’s nights, park playdates and hikes, field trips, and hopefully some day, pilgrimages. These extras aren’t included in the cost of the co-op, but are a special part of our community that we hope your family will enjoy.
