Religious Education

“Religion must not be taught to youth only during certain hours, but the entire system of education must be permeated with the sense of Christian piety. If this is lacking, if this Holy Spirit does not penetrate and inflame the souls of teacher and pupil, small benefit will be derived from any other sort of education; instead damage will be done. ” - Leo XIII

Ignatian Education

Ignatian education is founded on the principle that man is "born to praise, reverence and serve God our Lord, and by this means to save his soul.” Its goal is to form children into adults capable of being Christian leaders in the world. It achieves this goal by teaching children how to think clearly and communicate effectively and discern and act upon the will of God in their lives.

Ignatian Tradition

Guided by the Ignatian tradition, we seek to educate the whole person—mind, heart, and soul—helping students to grow in self-discipline, discernment, and a desire to glorify God in all things. Inspired by St. John Bosco, our approach balances rigor with joy, fostering an atmosphere of encouragement, kindness, and respect where students can thrive.

A Unique Rhythm of the Day

At St. John Bosco Academy, our schedule is intentionally designed to form the whole person, mind, body, and soul. Each day balances prayer and sacramental life, classical academics, and time for physical activity, creating a rhythm that supports healthy, joyful, and integrated learning.

  • Faith First: Our days begin and end with prayer, with time for reflection and encounters with Christ woven throughout.
  • The Classical Way: Students engage deeply with literature, history, Latin, mathematics, and the sciences, guided by the wisdom of the Catholic intellectual tradition.
  • Movement Matters: Each day includes walking or running a mile together. Research shows that regular movement boosts brain health, improves focus, and enhances memory, giving students the energy and clarity they need to learn well. It also builds discipline, resilience, and joy in accomplishment.

Uniting Prayer, Classical Study, and Daily Exercise

By uniting prayer, classical study, and daily exercise, our students not only grow in knowledge but also in virtue, character, and overall well-being. This unique daily rhythm ensures they are prepared to love God with their whole heart, mind, and strength.
