Forming Minds

Shaping hearts and minds through classical learning rooted in the Catholic faith.

Cultivating Community

Building a Christ-centered community that nurtures friendship and prepares souls.

Our Mission

At St. John Bosco Academy, we provide a Christ-centered, classical Catholic education that nurtures a love for truth, goodness, and beauty; fosters peaceful, purposeful learning; and supports families within a close-knit community faithful to the magisterium.

Rooted in the life of the Church and grace of the sacraments--and guided by a unique schedule and a spirit of charity and holiness--we seek to glorify God by forming children into faithful disciples who know, love, and serve the Lord throughout their lives.

“When tempted, invoke your angel. He is more eager to help you than you are to be helped.” - St. John Bosco

Admissions

We strive to be a bridge between traditional private schools and homeschooling, with a hybrid-style schedule and strong emphasis on cultivating community.

We offer two enrollment options:

1) Monday through Wednesday as full days, with Thursday as half-day enrichment. Your child will be enrolled in Kolbe Academy as part of this program.

2) Thursday only as a homeschool co-op. Please see the Admissions tab for more details.
Parent involvement is key to our culture and hybrid model, as this ensures focus is kept on Christ and our families. It also helps keep tuition as low as possible.

Testimonials

"We have belonged to this co-op for several years and feel very blessed. There have been so many wonderful friendships made here; for children and parents alike.

I enjoy teaching everyone’s children and am grateful for the other moms working with my son. We benefit from the classwork as well as meals shared and community building after class — not to mention all the outside get-togethers and field trips!

I look forward to many years yet to come!"
-Cindy F.
"Sometime in the last few decades, our rich and effective history of Catholic classical education was neglected, lost, and ultimately forgotten. However, in recent years, a few courageous Catholics have sought to bring back our patrimony for new generations and reclaim what was lost.

I am thrilled to announce Southwest Missouri is getting its own gem of a classical school: St. John Bosco Academy, founded by my dear friend Kara McIntee and her friends and associates. This new academy exists for 1) the glory of God, 2) the salvation of souls, and 3) the proper formation of intellects.

Truth, goodness, and beauty will reign in the hearts and souls of the students who are blessed to attend, guided by the parents, teachers, and administrators who understand their sacred obligations before the Lord.

May God bless and Our Lady guide the new St. John Bosco Academy!"
