About Us

Founders’ Story

Kara and Emily met after both of their families moved to the area three years ago and joined a homeschool co-op. For the past two years, they have worked alongside families to keep the co-op flourishing, fostering friendships, supporting one another in the challenges of homeschooling, and building a strong sense of community. Out of this experience grew the vision for St. John Bosco Academy, a school that combines the strengths of homeschooling and classical Catholic education within a vibrant, faith-filled community.

St. John Bosco Academy exists to respond to the growing need for a faithful, family-centered, and academically excellent Catholic education in our community. Through our personal experience in classical school communities, we have seen firsthand the richness and power of an education grounded in timeless truth, oriented toward virtue, and nurtured within a vibrant, authentic community. Our goal is to bring that same experience to families here in Southwest Missouri.

This experience inspired the vision for a school that bridges the best of traditional private education and homeschooling through a hybrid model. By combining classical academics with the flexibility to keep family life at the center, St. John Bosco Academy offers an environment where students are not only challenged intellectually but also formed spiritually, morally, and socially in the light of the Catholic faith.

Our school exists so that families who desire both strong Catholic formation and meaningful community can find a home where faith and reason flourish together, for the greater glory of God and the sanctification of our children.

Our Mission

Our mission at St. John Bosco Academy is to provide a Christ-centered, classical Catholic education that nurtures a love for truth, goodness, and beauty; fosters peaceful, purposeful learning; and supports families within a close-knit community faithful to the magisterium.

Rooted in the life of the Church and the grace of the sacraments, and guided by a unique schedule and a spirit of charity and holiness, we seek to glorify God by forming children into faithful disciples who know, love, and serve the Lord throughout their lives.

Our Vision

To form students who are intellectually sharp, morally upright, and spiritually grounded, through a classical Catholic education that unites academics, faithful formation, and a strong sense of family and community. St. John Bosco Academy aspires to be a place where families grow together in faith, children are prepared for both life and eternity, and the beauty and truth of the Catholic tradition flourish in Southwest Missouri.
